The Opposite of What You Mean

Why do they call it “weeding” (don’t they mean the opposite)? Why bother “dusting” when nature will do it for you (unless, of course, you mean to get rid of the stuff)? When you say “either,” do you mean “and” or “or” (or “none of the above”)? When you are “bemused,” why aren’t you smiling (is it because you are confused)?
